9.17.07 update

Here’s what we know so far, more than $1700 ($1707 to be exact) has been received in one-time gifts for Give Grace. We are off to a great start. Here’s what that means, we are investing in 189 Bibles to be distributed in Asia to pastors, we are $512 closer to a plane ticket taking alumni across the world to serve long term, and that we now have $512 to put towards our local expenses. In one night of giving, this is what can happen.  ($512 to reach the world, $512 to equip alumni, $512 to invest in Auburn, $170 towards Give Grace expenses).

Also, to date, we have $1000 in monthly commitments for Give Grace — which means a lot. We are now able to start sponsoring a few children now. After that, we will figure out how many Bibles we can invest towards, and after that, another orphan, or two, or two hundred. We’ll see. We are contacting our partners this week, to find out who these children are, what their names are, and their stories if possible.

What this also means is that by next May, we will be able to afford airline tickets and start-up costs for alumni serving around the world! Until then, we will invest these funds in an interest bearing account which only will help the money grow.

Additionally, this also means the locally, Grace Campus is able to offset its local overhead (rent, power, water) by $512 per month — which is about 1/3 of our monthly office expenses. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Give Grace

After nearly a year of planning and prayer, Grace Campus unfolds its giving arm where students, alumni, and our community can give towards global change and long-term partnership. Because of our desire to gather many college students for worship, teaching, and community - we believe the synergy gained from these gatherings affords us the opportunity to bring about change in the world.

Enter Give Grace. $20 is insignificant to many of us. It’s lunch with a friend or a few trips to Starbucks or a large pizza delivered or a t-shirt or a night at the movies…you get the point. We spend $20 like it’s nothing . On a good day, we even may find a crumpled $20 in our jeans pocket.

Yet, a simple commitment to invest $20 monthly means that orphans will have food, shelter, and medical care. It means that thousands of Bibles can be distributed in Asian countries. It means that students leaving Auburn can be supported in global missions. It means the Grace Campus will have connecting points, strategic exposure points, where college students will be shaped by experiencing a smaller world and a bigger God.

Our hope is for Give Grace to serve as a long-term project, where year after year, we can all share in the joy of seeing what our great God is doing through our simple obedience and willingness to give.

Our initial goal is to see 1000 students giving $20 a month, that is $240,000 a year.

The results are amazing. Working from $240,000 a year, that means that we can fully sponsor orphans (many with medical needs) in Uganda and in China, that means we can help distribute thousands of Bibles to people in Asia, that means we can partner strategically with our alumni around the world to advance the Kingdom, that means we can facilitate local outreach in our community, and it means the grace campus office can efficiently function in Auburn and remain focused on the goal.

Why are we confident in this mission?

All grace campus staff raise their own financial support. Year after year, we stand humbled by His faithful provision for our needs. Because this project overwhelmingly goes to help others, our greatest desire is the joy of seeing God work. The partners we have chosen to work with are reputable organizations, sharing similar values and goals. By putting these focused outreach points together, we can all share in the joy of seeing God do many things, in many places around the world, and here at home.

Both the staff and the board of directors are committed to acting with the highest integrity when it comes to the stewardship of resources. Please contact us with any questions.
