first steps…

Check out the media tab, where you will find pictures and updates of some of the children we sponsor. We are still waiting on pictures from the children in Uganda, but here is what we do know about them. They live in “Nkuumwa Orphanage House” in Bethany Village. Bethany Children’s Village was the first expansion project outside of ARM’s home in Ggaba. About 45 minutes away from Ggaba by boat, Bethany Village is a rural area inhabited by farmers and fishermen. The primary school has been completed along with twelve children’s homes, each home housing 15 children and a house parent.

Within one of those 12 homes we are sponsoring : Shallon is 9 Yrs Old, Stella-Justine is 7 Yrs Old, Stella-Sylvia is 10 Yrs and Esther is 10 Yrs old. We also have the blessing of partnering with Jennifer Mugambo the house mother caring for these young girls. So, for those of us headed to Uganda next summer we will get to meet all of them.

In other news, we are having ongoing conversations with several people wanting to serve in places like NYC, Hong Kong, and southeast Asia. Our desire to partner with them financially looks more and more likely as GiveGrace continues to build momentum. So…keep talking to friends and family, keep praying God will use the small gifts of many, many people to bring about His Kingdom.

Even locally, we have begun to sense some relief as our local overhead expenses (office, volunteer meals, etc) are being offset some by GiveGrace. For example, to feed the 50+ volunteers who make encounter happen… this week you are putting pizza on their plates.

So, thank you!

Great news.

In the last two weeks, more than $13,000 has been received for GiveGrace. Wow.

Last week, I spoke with our two partners regarding child sponsorship. Currently, GiveGrace has 10 children in its reach. We are waiting to hear back from them. When we do, we will know these children’s names, a little more about their story, and have a connection with them.

When we know — you will know!

Currently, we have committed to caring for 5 children from Uganda and 5 children from China.

I can’t wait to see their faces and be able to pray for them by name.

Whoever welcomes a child like this in my name, welcomes me. (Matthew 18:5)
